What to Expect in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
DfE has published a new guide for parents, produced by Sheringham Nursery School and Children’s Centre – ‘What to expect in the Early Years Foundation Stage’ (formerly ‘What to expect when’) which guides parents through what to expect in their child’s development. It aligns with the new Development Matters to help practitioners engage with parents about their child’s development.
Parent Carer Involvement
We recognise that as parent carers, you are the first educator of your child.
This is why we encourage parent carers to engage with your child’s key person to help your child feel safe and secure and to be involved in your child’s learning and development at the Preschool.

All places (childcare & funded early learning) are allocated based on date of application and availability of required days/hours of care.

Our App Parent Zone
ParentZone is an interactive app that allows parents a safe network to access information about their child’s day and their wow moments at a time that suits them. Our staff upload videos and photos and parents can then log on and view their child’s activity. At the same time, parents can contribute to their child’s learning journey and make notes for their key person, helping to build relationships between families and the Pre-School. We’ve had great feedback from our parents carers who’ve said they love to be able to get a full insight into their child’s day at the touch of a button.
