Holiday Play Care
Our Holiday Play Care club provides a fun, happy, and safe environment where children can play, learn, and make new friends. A wide range of activities is offered, including sports, cooking, and creative arts. Our generous outdoor space allows children to enjoy the Pre-School allotment, garden, and playground areas.
Children do not need to be regular attendees of the Pre-School to join during school holidays. We are open for most school holidays and have 24 places available each day, offering both full and half-day or week options to accommodate your needs.
Our current operating hours are 9am–4pm, with the possibility of extending these times if there is sufficient demand.
Please book early to avoid disappointment, as places are limited and always in high demand!
How to book?
If you would like to book your child's place, please complete an enquiry form.
Not already registered with us and you don’t use the preschool normally?
We will contact you via phone to register your child’s details with us (contact details, medical and allergy information etc).
No booking will be fully confirmed until full payment is received, and the child registration is complete.

Fees
Cost: We pride ourselves on offering competitive fees that reflect the high-quality service we provide. Please note that our standard fees do not include the cost of outings or special events brought into the setting. These are charged separately as optional extras
Cancellations: Cancellations are acceptable if made with at least 4 weeks' notice before the Holiday Play Care start date. Unfortunately, cancellations made with less than 4 weeks' notice are non-refundable, as staffing and resources will already be allocated based on the number of children booked to attend
Payment: For parents/carers already attending the preschool, the Holiday Play Care costs will be included in your next invoice. Please note that sessions not attended are still charged
Payment Options: We accept payments through the Government Tax-Free Childcare scheme and employer childcare voucher schemes
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us provide a high-quality, enjoyable experience for all children attending our Holiday Play Care.

We aim to be flexible! Let us know if you need Holiday Play Care for times outside of these choices e.g. 10am - 1pm
Lunchtime & Snacks
Snacks: Healthy snacks are provided during Holiday Play Care sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon
Lunch Options: Lunch can be provided at a cost of £3 per day, or you may choose to send a packed lunch with your child. Please ensure all lunches are labelled and packed in a paper bag
Nut-Free Policy: Watoto Pre-School is a nut-free zone. We kindly ask that any small fruits, such as grapes or cherries, are sliced before your child attends
Allergy Information: Please inform the Pre-School of any allergies or food intolerances your child may have

Things To Bring
Suitable clothing for indoor and outdoor activities is required: sun hats & sun cream during warmer days, or warm clothing & a waterproof when the weather is cooler or more variable.
We suggest packing spare clothes that you don’t mind getting messy due to both our outdoor play philosophy and art & craft activities.
Please label all clothing and items being brought to the preschool.
Please bring a refillable water bottle, so we can ensure that everyone drinks plenty of water.
Make sure there is sun cream in their bag as we will be outside at every opportunity.
Note: If sun cream is not provided and is deemed necessary in order to protect your child, preschool sun cream will be supplied, and the charge will be added on to your bill.
Important Reminders
Please inform the office or Holiday Play Care staff of any medical or contact details that have changed since you last attended.
If there are any aspects of Holiday Play Care you would like to discuss, please call Lisa on 0330 016 5668 between 8am – 4pm weekdays.
Outside these hours, please leave a voicemail and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
Before and After School Care
Our Breakfast Club and Tea Time Club offer a relaxed, caring start and end to the school day, giving children time to play, unwind, and feel settled — and parents a little extra flexibility.
Breakfast Club
8:00am – 9:00am
A calm and happy start to the day. Children can enjoy a free breakfast, including a drink, fruit, and/or cereal, before getting stuck into a range of play-based activities. It’s the perfect way to fuel up, have fun, and get ready for the school day ahead.
Tea Time Club
3:30pm – 6:00pm
After School Drop- Off & Pick - Up
We provide a safe, friendly, and reliable drop-off and pick-up service for children attending Byron Wood School, aged up to 8 years.
Our service is designed to give parents peace of mind and children a comfortable environment before and after the school day. Whether you need early morning care or after-school supervision, we’re here to help.
Parent and Toddler Playgroup
Our Parent and Toddler Playgroup runs fortnightly on Friday mornings and offers a warm, welcoming space for parents and carers with children aged 0–3 years. It’s a fun and friendly environment where little ones can explore through play while adults connect with other families.
If your child is due to start at Watoto Pre-School, or if you’re simply considering it, we encourage you to come along. Attending the playgroup helps your child build confidence and become familiar with the pre-school setting, with you right there to support them.
